Julia Stanford PRESIDENT Julia is new to the Friends of McKinney Falls but has been involved in state parks for years, as an employee, volunteer, and now just a supportive "park wife" - her husband Michael is the assistant superintendent. Julia brings professional experience in nonprofit administration, fundraising, and membership management to her role as President. She loves exploring the park with her toddler son, Rio. |
Colleen Morris VICE PRESIDENT Colleen and her husband Jim moved to Austin in 2018 from Virginia. She enjoys outdoor activities, particularly hiking/walking, and spends a lot of time in McKinney Falls SP with her dog, Ruby. She and Jim spend most weekends visiting the many parks of Austin and throughout Texas. In addition to McKinney Falls SP, she also volunteers with a local service dog group and with Austin Animal Center. |
Emma Rogers SECRETARY Emma has volunteered with Friends of McKinney Falls since 2019 and enjoys giving back to public lands through events and outreach. Emma has previously served with Texas Conservation Corps improving trail systems in Texas State Parks and is a Texas Master Naturalist. Her favorite spot at McKinney Falls is the Williamson Creek Overlook Trail. |
Kate Wenzel Treasurer Kate has been volunteering with Texas State Parks since 2019. An avid hiker and camper, she enjoys learning about Texas natural history and participating in the interpretative programs at McKinney Falls and other State Parks. She recently completed training as a Texas Master Naturalist and looks forward to leading her own programs. |
